6 Marks of any Awakening. 480 346 Keir Tayler

From: 2Chron 29-31
King Hezekia believed God on behalf of his people. His faith precipitated a national revival and show 6 marks of any awakening.
This was a favorable time to promote revival – someone who saw the pathway clearly and worked it. So many are believing for one now.

Revival begins with a change of revelation of Him – Jesus.

1. Awakening happens when God’s people repair doors.

v 3 “In the first year of his reign, in the first month, he opened the doors of the house of the Lord and repaired them.
▪ Re-opened the doors of the temple & repaired them.
▪ Doors of Truth re-opened. Heb 6:1-4 foundations.
▪ They had forsaken truth, chosen another life.
▪ Jn 10:7 So Jesus said to them again, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.
▪ Jn 10:9 I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find     pasture.
▪ Cannot find the door cannot find Him. When you bringin Godly leadership the doors open.

2. v 4 Awakening happens when priest are positioned in the right place, when you clean out the junk from their lives.
v 4 “He brought in the priests and the Levites and gathered them into the square on the east”.
▪ “EAST” – first to receive revelation ‘light’ for the day.
▪ Sanctify themselves – to know their call and function according to God’s plan, and not mans ways.
▪ v. 5 “Then he said to them, “Levites, listen to me! Now consecrate (dedicate) yourselves and consecrate  the house of the Lord, the God of your fathers”
▪ Get the filth of idol worship out of the Holy Place. Gathered the Levites, told them to remove junk from them and the HOUSE. 1Cor 6:16. The Called ones to cleaned up first.

Keys to the Door of Leadership.
◦ Godly ministers of all denominations coming together.
◦ Not looking for manifestations, but His conviction,
◦ Those who are not wanting to preach “their” sermons but say what He says. (Jn 5:19)
◦ Prayer meetings become the prime focus again, even at midday.
◦ Churches hungry for the message to be taken to them. No zoom church. Word elevated above everything else.
◦ The anointing of God will permanently rest upon man in the proportion that he will repudiate his own ego, take no glory for himself, and be content and humble to participate in the Divine visitation.
◦ A refusal by God’s ministers to give heed to the threat’s of men, and their continued fearless preaching (Acts 5:21).
◦ Certainly in these days God has no desire to share His glory with the flesh. God owes nothing to any man. This is a day when the glory of this visitation belongs to Christ and not to man.
◦ The real distinguishing feature of these revivals lies in the boldness of the men who minister, and the demonstration of the power of God.
◦ Fear of failure made the average preacher too timid to challenge the promises of God to that extent.
◦ There is nothing so convincing as a demonstration of the power of God, and it is this demonstration that draws the large audiences (1Cor. 2:4-5). Power and authority were the two main ‘keys’ that separated Jesus ministry from all others. Demons knew it instantly. Mk 1:27-28
◦ Another distinguishing feature of these revivals, or rather we should say, a result of them, is that they are bringing about a new unity and fellowship between the various Church groups. (1Cor. 11:29-30).

3. v 5 Awakening happens when ‘altars’ are opened.

4. v 5 Awakening happens when carry out uncleanness, “…. and get the filth [of idol worship] out of the Holy Place.”
Worship to be out of revelation of Him.

5. v12-15  Awakening happens when race, tribe, nation unite in heart.

Sons of sons of men, from different groups and tribes. Tribe: Kohathites, Gershonites, Jehuel,

6. v 34. Awakening happens when repentance explodes. “But the priests were too few…”   So many sacrifices that the priests were too few to deal with mass repentance and they gave because they were excited to see God move again.
◦ They were not cajoled, they wanted to.
◦ Generosity restored the Temple and blessed their neighbors.
◦ Resulted from hearts touched by grace.
◦ God is not waiting for a new leader. not waiting for the world to clean up its act. He is waiting for for those of us in the church to courageously confess our sins and stand on the gospel once again.
