‘Sun rays began to dance in intensity on clay wall of her small bedroom. It was a modest room built on top of the flat roof of her parents home. She knew her bandage was again wet with blood. She had faced this every day for 12 years now. She was very anemic from constant blood loss. On her side table was an array of powdered plants and seeds in small bowls. New ones and old ones, new remedies and old, trial and error in hope that somehow she would be healed. Sitting up she took what was suggested by her latest health advisor.
Talia dressed after washing and preparing for the day. Today was different. She knew it was a day that could damn her for life, or be life itself. Yesterday a dear friend from afar had come and told some strange news.
Aviva had come from a neighboring province.
There was a knock on her door
Aviva greeted Talia excitedly. “Talia you remember we were taught that a certain humble man would come and change society so radically that most would not accept what he says?”
“Yes, I do”, said Talia.
“Well, he is here … I saw him two days ago. Even the priests are coming to hear him. Oh you must get to him.”
“But its against the law for me to be in public … you know”. She pointed down to her abdomen. “Its getting really bad Aviva and so painful, I have doubled up on the pain powders”. Tears came to her eyes.
Aviva took her hand and sat still for a while.
“This man is a nobody so nobody’s will be near him. You will be safe – unnoticed. I will come with you. He is here in town today. You have nothing to lose.” She paused a little and continued, “He loves market places so even better for us to blend in.”
Talia looked up taking Aviva’s hand in both of hers, “You will come with me?” “Yes”, said Aviva. “I will. That is why I came today because I know he is here.” ……

A big burly disciple standing next to Jesus replied, “You see the crowd pressing in on You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’”
“Yes, I know Peter, but someone touched in a certain way not like the rest of the crowd. I felt virtue flow from me to this person … she placed a demand on who I am by faith  and in what I can do. Most don’t do that.”
Talia heard this and knew she was not under judgement but felt special. She came to Jesus and knelt down before him. “I touched your clothes because …” and Talia began to tell Jesus why and how she was now totally healed. Talia a young woman who knew very little about church life yet had a crumb of faith. Aviva came and sat beside Talia as she was now almost preaching to the gathering crowd. How was she healed? Well, she simply knew that faith in the word of God has power to heal and so she was constantly saying what God can do. That resulted in her getting what she confessed. Then she told them why she touched him because she had heard that prophet Ezekial had told the priests who served in the temple that they had to change clothes before going out to the people from the temple duty. Because their clothes would carry the glory of God. Their clothes had anointing power or the presence of God, and that would change the people. She somehow knew this and so by faith accessed heavenly power. Faith always attracts Jesus.
