Power of Praying in “Tongues”.
The early New Testament church carried a phenomenon that separated it from all others by its supernatural power.
God came into man: Ac 2:1-3 A sound came from out side (A noise like a mighty rushing wind) resulting in a sound from inside (… all filled with the Holy Spirit and they began to speak with other tongues). Church changed.
The Word says:
(1 Cor 14:4). “For if I pray in an unkown tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful”
(1 Cor 2:10-13) “For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the mans spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God [who is in YOU]. We have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given to us. This is what we speak, not in words given to us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths with spiritual words.”
Rom 8:26: “For we know not what to pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groaning (in Greek this means uttering love secrets, quietly and gently) which cannot be uttered.”
When you are praying in the spirit, you are praying with the Holy Spirit who knows the mind of Christ as well as the perfect will and needs of your life!
When you pray in tongues you are unleashing the rivers of God which has two primary functions: protection, and ministering to others: Jn 7:38-39 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’
When we think of rivers, it is different from the well that is inside you springing up waters of eternal life (Jn 14:14). Rivers are public, no one owns a river. Wells are private, meaning your private salvation that affects only you. When you have rivers flowing out from you, you are ministering to those around you by bringing the POWER and LIFE of the Holy Spirit to THEM!
Yet there is another dynamic: Rom 8:26: “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities”. 98% of the time infirmities is used in the New Testament & it is referring to bodily sickness. Another example is in 1 Cor 14:4 — ‘One who speaks in a tongue edifies himself; but the one who prophesies edifies the church.’
This word “edifies” means ‘to build’, from foundation. When used in this reference it would suggest that ones body cellular structure is being renovated ‘from foundation up’ So we could say this word ‘edifies’ means renovation, renewing, or healing! It literally means to restore, rebuild, or to repair. When you pray in tongues, you are repairing your body and mind at the cellular level, you are experiencing the healing power of the Holy Spirit from our infirmities.

Through research and testing Dr.Peterson found out that as we pray in the Spirit, or worship in the Spirit, (our heavenly language) there is activity that begins to take place in our brain. As we engage in our heavenly language the brain releases 2 chemical secretions that are directed into our immune systems giving a 35 to 40 percent boost to the immune system. This promotes healing within our bodies. Amazingly this secretion is triggered from a part of the brain that has no other apparent activity in humans and is only activated by our Spirit led prayer and worship. Mainly the hypothalamus. The hypothalamus has directed regulation of four major systems of the body, mainly:
a) The pituitary gland and all target endocrine glands.

c) The entire autonomic system.
d. The production of brain hormones called endorphins and enkephalons, which are chemicals the body produces and are 100 – 200 times more powerful than morphine.
There is power in speaking in tongues. It is the trigger to the supernatural.
